Welcome to Chunky Guys, a social app for bears, cubs, chubbier guys, and their admirers, and the home of our online store. These Terms explain what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and how we keep the platform safe and respectful.

By using the app, the website, or the store, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who We Are

We host our infrastructure on French-owned providers within the EU, ensuring your data benefits from strong UK/EU privacy protections.

2. Eligibility

• You must be 18 years or older to use Chunky Guys or to buy from our store.
• You must use the app for lawful, personal use only.
• You are responsible for ensuring that viewing or sharing adult content is legal in your region.

3. Your Account

Authentication is handled entirely through your ATProto/Bluesky account. We do not receive or store your Bluesky password.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate profile information.
• Not impersonate anyone.
• Use your own photos and content, or content you have full rights to.
• Keep your account secure.

If your account appears compromised, we may suspend it temporarily for your protection.

4. Your Content

Chunky Guys allows you to upload profile photos, write a bio, and send private media to other users.

You retain full ownership of everything you upload.

To operate the service, you grant us a limited licence to:

• Store your content.
• Display it to you.
• Deliver it to recipients you choose.
• Make necessary technical copies (for example, resizing and caching).

This licence is:

• Non-exclusive.
• Revocable (when you delete content, our licence ends).
• Restricted to operating the app.
• Never used for advertising or promotion.

We never reuse your private media for any purpose other than sending it to the person you select.

5. Content Rules (Adult Content Allowed With Safeguards)

Chunky Guys is an adult-friendly, body-positive community. Adult content is permitted, but only when it is lawful, consensual, and correctly labelled.

You must not upload, share, or post content that involves:

• Anyone under 18.
• Non-consensual sharing (for example, revenge porn or stolen images).
• Coercion, exploitation, or trafficking.
• Sexual violence or threats.
• Bestiality or other illegal acts.
• Secretly recorded material.
• Deepfakes or impersonation using someone’s likeness without permission.
• Hate speech, harassment, or targeted abuse.
• The sharing of private information (doxxing).
• Spam, scams, or deceptive activity.
• Infringement of copyright or intellectual property.

Labeling

You must accurately label sexual or sensitive content in accordance with Bluesky’s moderation and labeling system, which Chunky Guys honours.

Incorrect labeling may lead to content removal or account restrictions.

Content visibility

Chunky Guys does not control or override your adult-content settings. All content visibility, including sexual or sensitive content, is governed by your Bluesky account settings.

You must manage those settings directly on the Bluesky website.

6. User-to-User Private Media

Chunky Guys delivers your private media directly to the specific user you select.

This means:

• Your content may be transferred outside the UK/EU.
• This is legally considered a user-directed transfer under GDPR.
• We do not forward, expose, or share your media with anyone else.

You control who receives your content. All media remains stored securely on EU servers unless you delete it or request deletion.

7. Reporting & Moderation

You can report users or content that violate these Terms.

We may remove or restrict content if:

• It breaks these rules.
• It appears harmful, unsafe, or illegal.
• It violates Bluesky’s rules or App Store guidelines.
• It poses a risk to users or the platform.

We may notify you, but are not obligated to in every case.

8. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Share illegal or prohibited content.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse others.
• Impersonate others.
• Engage in deceptive, exploitative, or unsafe behaviour.
• Significantly violate these Terms.
• Compromise user safety.
• Repeatedly breach community expectations.

You may request a review of a suspension.

You may request account deletion at any time; we will delete associated data according to our Privacy Policy.

9. Safety & Interactions

Chunky Guys does not run background checks on users. You are responsible for your interactions, both online and offline.

Chunky Guys is not liable for:

• Actions of other users.
• User-generated content.
• Private communications between users.
• Offline interactions resulting from use of the app.

Please use good judgment when meeting or communicating with others.

10. Service Availability

We aim to offer a reliable service, but we cannot guarantee:

• Uninterrupted uptime.
• Error-free operation.
• Preservation of your content.
• Availability of all features at all times.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service as needed.

Chunky Guys is not liable for:

• Outages or service interruptions.
• Data loss.
• Failures caused by third-party providers or networks.

11. Buying From Our Store

Our online store sells apparel and related items. This section sets out the terms for buying those goods. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

• 11.1 The Store

  The store is operated by Chunky Technology Limited. These sale terms apply whenever you buy physical goods from us. You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract to place an order.

• 11.2 Placing an Order

  When you place an order, we will send you an email acknowledging it. This acknowledgement confirms we have received your order; it is not acceptance of it. A contract between us is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation for the items in question.

  We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock, if there is an error in the price or description, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.

• 11.3 Pricing and VAT

  Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT. Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout and on our shipping page.

  We try to ensure all prices are correct, but errors can occur. If we find an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to continue at the correct price before dispatching.

• 11.4 Payment

  Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. We take payment when you place your order.

• 11.5 Delivery

  We ship worldwide. Delivery costs and estimated timeframes are set out on our shipping page: [shipping page URL].

  We aim to meet estimated delivery times but cannot guarantee them, as delivery depends on our carriers (Royal Mail, Evri, and DPD) and, for international orders, local postal and customs services. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

• 11.6 International Orders, Duties and Taxes

  If you are ordering from outside the UK, your order may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs charges applied by the destination country. These are your responsibility and are not included in the price you pay us. They are usually charged when the goods reach the destination country. We recommend checking your local rules before ordering.

• 11.7 Your Right to Cancel (Change of Mind)

  For most items, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.

  To cancel, email us at sayhello@chunkyguys.com. You must then return the goods within 14 days of telling us. You are responsible for the cost of return postage for a change-of-mind return.

  Please return goods unused and in a resaleable condition. We may reduce your refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling the goods beyond what is necessary to check them.

  We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you providing proof that you have sent them, whichever is sooner.

• 11.8 Exceptions to the Right to Cancel

  The change-of-mind right in 11.7 does not apply to:

  • Sealed hygiene items, such as underwear and swimwear, once the hygiene seal has been broken.
  • Made-to-order, personalised, or print-on-demand items, once we have started making them, as they cannot be resold.

  These exceptions apply only to the change-of-mind right. Your rights in relation to faulty, damaged, or incorrect goods (see 11.9) are unaffected.

• 11.9 Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

  If an item is faulty, damaged, not as described, or not what you ordered, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This includes the right to reject the goods for a full refund within 30 days of receipt, and rights to a repair or replacement after that.

  For faulty, damaged, or incorrect items, we cover the cost of return postage. Please contact us at sayhello@chunkyguys.com and we will arrange this with you.

• 11.10 Returns Process

  To return an item, contact us first at sayhello@chunkyguys.com so we can guide you. Returns should be sent to our returns address:

  Please include your order number so we can identify your return.

• 11.11 Refunds

  Refunds are made to your original payment method through Stripe. Once a refund is issued, it may take a few days to appear, depending on your bank or card provider.

• 11.12 Your Statutory Rights

  Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

12. Intellectual Property

All branding, design, code, and intellectual property belong to Chunky Technology Limited.

You may not:

• Copy, distribute, or reverse engineer the app.
• Use our branding without permission.

API access

You may access our public API in accordance with these Terms and the AT Protocol. You must not use it to scrape or harvest data at scale, evade rate limits or technical restrictions, circumvent our safety or moderation systems, resell or redistribute data, or disrupt the service or other users. We may restrict or revoke API access to protect the platform.

13. Third-Party Services

Chunky Guys integrates with and relies on:

• Bluesky / ATProto: for authentication.
• Scaleway: for hosting, databases, and media storage.
• Brevo: for emails.
• Sentry (EU): for error reporting.
• Bitdrift (US): for performance monitoring.
• Stripe: for processing store payments.
• ShipStation: for order fulfilment and shipping.
• Royal Mail, Evri, and DPD: for delivering orders.

Each service has its own terms and privacy practices.

14. Indemnity

To protect the platform, you agree to indemnify Chunky Technology Limited against any claims, losses, or damages resulting from:

• Your content.
• Your actions or misuse of the service.
• Your breach of these Terms.
• Violations of law or rights of others.
• Harm caused to other users.

This does not limit your rights under UK consumer law.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law:

• Chunky Guys is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Our total liability to you is limited to £50.

We do not limit or exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so (for example, fraud or death/serious injury caused by negligence).

Nothing in this section limits or excludes your statutory rights as a consumer. In particular, the £50 limit does not apply to our obligation to provide a refund, repair, or replacement for goods that are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

All disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify you through the app or by email before they take effect.
